About

Set in an amalgam of Neo-Victorian and Lovecraftian worlds, combining the genres of Steampunk and Cosmic Horror, ETHERNAUTICA seeks to create a world of retro science fiction in a strange and exciting universe of both eldritch monstrosities and grand pulp adventure!

ETHERNAUTICA is a tabletop role-playing podcast that contains actual play of a home-brew game using the Cortex Classic game system, originally made for the Serenity role-playing game. The game universe is an amalgam of, firstly, the universe of Frank Chadwick's tremendous steampunk adventure game, Space: 1889, mixed with the creatures, beings and mythos from Chaosium's eminently popular Lovecraftian game, Call of Cthulhu.

"Parkour!!!" - 5 stars

"Gotta say, I love the show. It’s obvious a lot of love and care go into it. Even when there are slight audio issues, the cast go out of their way to make listening an engaging experience. And the accents and voice actors they implement are wonderful to listen to!” - TheNerdlyKing

"Engaging and impressive" - 5 stars

"I’m impressed with the quality of the production as well as the them and aura of this RPG. As a non-gamer, my mind doesn’t wander listening to this show. It’s well produced, engaging and downright fun. Excellent from top to bottom. Highly recommend.” - JV Torres

"Just getting started" - 5 stars

"I was just on the haikus on a train episode but I love it already. My favorite part is the great editing of background sound and voice modulation.” - Rvd4949

"Space, weirdness, and Hellcat Pauline" - 5 stars

"She’s hot, she’s mean, she has two guns and a vest. She’s Hellcat Pauline and I’m in love. Also there are three wonderful actors/roleplayers doing most of the work, it sounds great, Double D is a fantastic writer and storyteller, but when it comes down to it I just want a show all about Pauline. I don’t know what that says about me.

This show is so good it makes me want to play Call of Cthulhu and use dice pools. So it must be good.” - Eljefetacoma

"Steampunk" - 5 stars

"An interesting take on the tabletop RPG genre set in a steampunk setting. .Gives off a very Final Fantasy vibe with all the airships. Good fun for anybody looking to change it up from all the D&D pods out there." - TimmyGisAwesome

"THIS SHOW IS GREAT!" - 5 stars

"CoC + S1889 = Awesome!" - 5 stars

"This real play podcast has great sound effects & shows lots of clear editing prowess. The immersion into this hybrid world is excellent. Very much like where they are & how things are shaping up. This is both for the characters & the events they are involved in.

I know the GM & most of the players. There is a level of favorable bias in my enjoyment, but the story, characters & world stand on their own very well." - Zidarose

"Uniquely Entertaining" - 5 stars

"Its blend of scifi and Lovecraftin lore with an incredible cast makes this a must listen! Adventure, insanity, and horrors await you fellow listeners... and that's never been such a good thing!" - Xvxbcbdjdnndmx
